Boolean Search Instructions

Enter a search command using Common Command Language (CCL). You can combine search terms to build complex searches.

Example: Find the works of author Asimov published in 1970.

1. Type AU=asimov AND PD=1970 in the Boolean box.
2. Click GO.

Example: Find the works of the author Asimov with titles that include the words "Amazing Stories" and are on DVD.

1. Type AU=asimov AND (TI=amazing stories AND TOM=dvd) in the Boolean box.
2. Click GO.

You can also select search databases and set search options for Boolean searches. For more information about Boolean searching, click Help on the menu bar.
